If this is true (highly likely) then it demonstrates the level of deception to which people are willing to go in order to gain power over others and material wealth for themselves. It also shows that the validity of the Catholic religion is highly suspect when intelligent human beings such as the popes conclude that the belief in the existence of a monotheistic god is probably a nonsensical one. | |||
